How do I GPS track someone?

You install Chirp, and they install Chirp - pair together and track away in real time, with place alerts, messages and more!

Once you install the Chirp GPS app, you simply connect with your friends, family, and others by “pairing”, or by sending them an invite using any method you like. Pairing, or inviting takes just seconds, and once you are paired with someone, you can track them, send them messages, get directions to them, and all of the other benefits Chirp GPS has become famous for.

Do I need any other hardware to GPS track someone?

No. That is the best part about Chirp GPS. Additional hardware requires just “one more thing” to keep track of itself. Battery life, recharging, losing it, or having another device that requires it’s own service is just too much of a pain! Everyone has their cell phone with them 24/7 -so why not just use that to keep track of them too! Chirp GPS doesn’t need any additional hardware to let you keep up with your friends, family, and co-workers.

Is GPS tracking really free?

Yes, Chirp is free to try with all of the features for an entire week. If you like it, the monthly subscription starts after 7 days. If you don’t like it, cancel the subscription from within the app and you can keep using the free features within Chirp - forever! (yes, really).

What is included in the premium version?

The premium (paid subscription) version of Chirp GPS has several benefits over the free version. 
Advanced location sharing including speed alerts, route reports, messaging, panic functions, broadcasting, automatic distance measurements, track by cell phone number, and so much more.

How long do you retain location information?

We store all records for 365 days from the time of entry. They are automatically deleted at that time, but you can download each year's worth of GPS tracking into Excel format to archive for your records.

How accurate is Chirp GPS?

Chirp GPS uses the GPS hardware already built into your device to track. Manufactures differ, but location results are usually within 3-5 feet of someones actual location. Buildings, trees, indoor locations, and other outside interference call all effect the GPS accuracy. 

Can I use Chirp GPS for my business?

Absolutely! We have Fleet Tracking program that many companies use on a daily basis for fleet vehicle tracking, emergency response personnel tracking, military, sales staff tracking, individual employee tracking, medical staff dispatching, and many more sectors of business. How do I cancel my subscription and unsubscribe?

If you have version 2.9 and above
Go into Chirp, tap settings, My Account, then Subscription. Finally - tap the Manage Subscription link on the bottom of the page.

If you have an older version of Chirp (pre 2.9), or Chirp is no longer installed, then follow these instructions.
To remove your Chirp premium subscription iOS:
1. On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
2. On the Home screen, tap Settings.
3. Tap iTunes & App Store.
4. Tap your Apple ID. 
5. Tap View Apple ID. You might need to sign in.
6. Under Subscriptions, tap Manage.
7. Tap the subscription that you want to manage.
8. Use the options to manage your subscription. You can choose a different subscription period, or turn off Automatic Renewal.
9. Turn off Automatic Renewal to cancel a subscription. Your subscription will stop at the end of the current billing cycle.

To remove your Chirp premium subscription Android:
1. Go to payments.google.com.
2. Along the left side of your screen, select Bills and accounts.
3. Select the subscription you want to cancel > Cancel subscription.

Important: Uninstalling an app will not automatically stop your subscription. You must cancel your subscription to end your subscription. If you uninstall the app without canceling your subscription, you will still be charged.

How do I resubscribe to Chirp GPS?

Super easy, just open the app and tap the "subscribe" button. Once your Apple or Android subscription purchase is complete, you will be routed back into the Chirp GPS app, where all of the premium GPS tracking features are automatically unlocked for you.
